Role Summary:
The Electro-Mechanical Engineer will be working alongside our existing electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and software engineers on medical device development. This role is multi-disciplinary, most notably supporting the design, development, and testing of electro-mechanical subsystems and components. The ideal candidate will leverage academic knowledge to offer feedback on the development process. We are looking for a team player who views medical device development as a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities:
Designing precision motion stages and components, electromechanical system parts and assemblies in CAD environment
Generating drawings for parts and assemblies
Modeling and simulation of design components, such as, dynamic system modeling, kinematic modeling, structural, and thermal analysis
Building precision assemblies, wire harnesses and program automated functionalities
Creating test fixtures including instrumenting with data acquisition systems and programming
Supporting production for method sheet creation, tooling, and process qualification
Qualifications:
Working toward a BS or MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Biomedical, or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent area
Proficiency in Solidworks and design for manufacturing
Exposure to software such as Python, MATLAB, C++, HTML
Interest in and experience in dealing with robotics systems
Involvement in automation related extracurricular activities, such as, First Robotics
Additive manufacturing, such as 3D printing
Knowledgeable in CNC machining, sheet-metal and other manufacturing methods
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines
Flexibility to work in a changing and fast paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Knowledge of 3D CAD software, SolidWorks is a plus
