Founded in 1909, George Junior Republic is dedicated to helping at-risk youth become successful, well-adjusted adults, capable of achieving a higher degree of citizenship and a better understanding of his responsibility to society, family and self. Preventative Aftercare, a GJR Affiliate corporation, provides community-based services in Pennsylvania and Ohio to both adults, children, and families.
Summary of the position: The Family Based Mental Health Professional will complete all assigned duties as outlined below which maintaining best practice standards.
Work Hours: Employee’s hours are considered non-traditional based on referring agency and client needs; however, the work week is considered full time (40 hours per week). Employees are expected to work a minimum of two evenings (past 5pm) two evenings per week. On-call crisis line coverage according to schedule.

Description of Duty
Clinical Services
Provide as the lead clinician, individual, group and family therapy sessions on a regularly scheduled basis
Deliver services through a minimum of 2 hrs. face to face contact per week with the individual and family
Provide team-delivered services at least 60% of the service time
Engage in appropriate team behaviors: collaborate and consult on a daily basis with the other team members.
Provide families with 24/7 on call service when scheduled and comply with all on-call policies as determined by the Family Based Director
Schedule and facilitate interagency meetings within 30 days of a youth’s admission.
Develop clinically appropriate Individual Service Plans (ISPs) within 5 calendar days of initial services and submit monthly updates every 30 days.
Document every contact with detailed service notes within 24 hours of service delivery.
Administrative
Complete and submit all administrative documentation at least weekly to Family Based Director.
Monitor consumer contacts individually and as a team to ensure accurate billing submission.
Prepare discharge and aftercare plan for each consumer.
Monitor all treatment authorizations and participate in timely phone reviews with Carelon Care Manager.
Monitor Medical Assistance coverage for each consumer
Attend and actively participate in weekly clinical supervision
Video clinical work monthly and bring to clinical supervision.
Training
Attend and actively participate in state mandated Family Based training as scheduled.
Service Planning
Schedule and participate in interagency service planning with appropriate child serving agencies or systems.
Billing
Submit all billing documentation to the appropriate individual as required.
Quality Assurance
Participate in scheduled Quality Assurance Reviews of data, reports, client records, paperwork, checklists, etc.
Develop and participate in Clinical Learning contracts and goals in collaboration with Family Based Program Director
Communication
Be available to consumers, child serving agencies and co-workers via cell phone and return all calls within a timely manner.
Monitor all electronic communications throughout the day and respond accordingly.
Ensure electronic communications reflect days off with instructions on who to contact in your absence
Attend all court hearings.
Maintain open and honest communication with team member and Director
Other
Provide best practice when providing clinical treatment
Comply with all Mandated Reporting, Duty to Warn and Duty to Protect Laws in all clinical work.
Apply cultural sensitivity in clinical and professional work, including regular participation in the development of cultural awareness.
Working Conditions: Must be able to lift 10 pounds, and bend, stoop, stretch, and work in both the office and various community-based settings.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work or a related field.
Licensure
Preferred
Years of Experience
Minimum of 2 years direct service experience with children and adolescents in a CASSP system providing behavioral or mental health services.
Computer Experience
Basic skills in Microsoft word and Excel
Other
Act 33/34 clearances as provided by Child Protective Services Law 23 PA C.S. 16301 and FBI Clearances, Adam Walsh Act 147
Valid PA driver’s license.
