Job Description

Farm Workers (Poultry Farm) $16.00 Hour

Location: San Jacinto, CA

Shift: 6am to 2.30pm, must be flexible for Overtime and weekends

Overview of Position:

We are looking to hire Poultry Farm Workers, who will perform tasks such as collecting eggs, providing hens with feed and water, and collecting eggs from each nest while removing hens from the nests. Workers will be responsible for taking care of the baby chicks daily, and may assist with administering vaccines. Training will be given in how to do these tasks.

Job Duties:

Help remove hens from nesting boxes while gathering eggs

Push cart along aisles to collect eggs in and outside nesting boxes

Ensure that all birds are moved

Gather eggs in a manner that prevents excessive breakage.

Transfer flats of eggs from the barn to the egg wash room, record number of eggs collected

Assist in washing eggs and maintain sanitary conditions in the egg wash room

Wash and disinfect drinkers throughout the day to ensure fresh drinking water for the birds

Monitor and troubleshoot issues with feed lines, drinkers, fans, nest doors, etc

Help with administering vaccines to baby chicks.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Flexible to work up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays

Understand oral and written instructions and record egg gathering information.

Ability to work with chemicals, such as detergents, disinfectants, etc.

Willing to Stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Working in a poultry house environment, including outdoors and in seasonal conditions

Working with live animals, and the related smells in a noisy environment with dust.

Drug Screen required.
