What you'll do

Management:

- Serve as leader for one or more systems delivery teams; may lead multi-disciplinary team to deliver KTLO, foundational, and timely projects for assigned systems

- Meet targeted service level agreements (SLAs) for assigned system

- Prioritize projects and work to ensure alignment with Product Owners / Managers and business leaders; provide systems / business process updates and status

- Serve as a primary contact for vendors of assigned systems

- Provide input to shared services team on impact of vendor roadmaps on H-E-B technology plans

- Apply understanding of vendor contracts terms on assigned systems (payment, renewal, termination terms)

- Drive contract terms to support / influence desired business outcomes and cost reductions

- Identify process challenges; offer potential solutions; support organization in process changes / improvements

- Develop plans / lead execution of technology upgrades to maintain application portfolio currency

- Support / may lead budget planning; create CPRs; manage budgets for multiple major efforts; provide critical technical data for inclusion in capital requests

- Develop creative alternatives when requested money is not available

- Provide input for optimization of delivery models

- Maintain accurate and effective resource and capacity planning; use a data-driven approach to understand and minimize effort-driven cost of delivery

- Apply knowledge of all applicable technology delivery models to accurately deliver agreed-upon work on time

- Apply deep understanding of tech stack roadmaps; develop plans to effectively interweave foundational technology upgrades with business deliverables

- Set goals for team / team Partner growth; provide frequent performance feedback; write / deliver Corporate-directed performance reviews; address poor performance; develop top-tier talent

- Review / select candidates for interviews; assist with interviews; may make hiring decisions for assigned teams

Strategy:

- May support strategic planning related to technology, solution discovery, service / risk / relationship management

- Research / understand technology options that support business goals

- Support long-term expense and capital reduction on assigned systems areas; align technology to meet long-term goals

Who You Are

- You have 7+ years of software development or engineering experience

- You have 5+ years of experience with COTS or SAS solutions

- You may have management experience

- You have experience with vendor software

- You're an expert in applicable technology delivery model

- You understand business unit drivers for success, and their processes / approaches to business models

- You can maintain processes and leadership philosophy in a space of great ambiguity

- You can recognize / develop strengths of others

- You have leadership, influencing, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

- You have strong business acumen and creativity
