What You'll Do

This position is responsible for delivering key engineering results in support of the Electrification Strategy of Hydraulics and Actuation Systems (More Electric Aircraft - New Technology Introduction - MEA - NTI) for FMC Division of Aerospace Group. Responsibility includes building organizational capability and capacity within the region and executing the global engineering strategy for the Group.

This leader will be responsible for meeting the schedule, scope, cost and technical targets for all projects under his/her control, by managing the shared pool of engineering resources.

Provide visible leadership to guide, coach and develop the next level organizational and technical leaders

Select, hire and retain employees in the department; develop and maintain relationships with global stakeholders, technical community and academia, and leveraging these partnerships for continuous advancements of the capability and drive 'Analysis First' mind-set in product development and engineering projects.

Leadership and Management of MEA - NTI team within FMC, Aerospace team for significant enhancement in New Technology/ Product and application Introductions aligned to strategic roadmap. Technology & cost out outputs.

Strategy & execution leadership for enhancing collaboration & synergy significantly with business divisions & Centers of excellence / functions.

Fully leverage digital and physical prototyping capabilities to drive product innovation. Maximize the utilization of the state-of-the art test labs to accelerate new product and technology effectiveness.

Monitor progress and achievements on projects, ensure technical reviews and expert resolution of issues and monitor integration of work.

Develop a high performing, innovative, empowered and accountable culture across the organization.

Show visible leadership and set example by personal action in developing strong learning culture in the team.

Manage capacity and resources including software/hardware as part of organization profit plans

Attract, develop and retain employees to build a strong-diversified talent pool and leadership succession for the center as well as broader EIIC organization. Coach and motivate team members to help achieve peak performance to best of their potential.

Champion continuous capability and process improvements to support the Eaton Business System: Profit planning, Technology roadmap, Performance Management - APEX, Merit planning, Customer & Employee surveys, DFSS.

Develop and maintain currency in regulatory environments and advanced technology development on global and domestic levels to guide investments appropriately

Develop a high performing, innovative, empowered and accountable culture across the Aerospace organization.

Qualifications

Master's in mechanical/ Aero/ Applied Mechanics with machine design / structural mechanics / computational modeling specialization

15+ Years of work experience, Expertise and proven track record in engineering research/ analysis/ product design in multi-disciplinary areas of auto/ aero/ hydraulic/ electrical domain is essential.

Skills

Proven track record in engineering / R&D domain, demonstrated tenacity and flexibility to reliably achieve goals and sound understanding of Six Sigma / DFSS.

Possess strong business acumen and the ability to understand and formulate compelling value propositions and to understand and drive through value and adoption chain.

Creating, executing and communicating vision, strategy, structure, goals, processes and ensuring alignment with functional / locational / divisional priorities

Experience in leading projects with multiple stakeholders in matrix organization and strong project management experience is required.

Experience in effectively coaching and mentoring.

Experience in developing a high performing, empowered and accountable leadership team to support business growth and to build organizational capability

Possess a deep understanding of how culture and team dynamics create exceptional teams
