DBM Vircon is looking to expand our Engineering and Design footprint in Chennai, India, we are seeking highly motivated, energetic, and proactive individuals who are looking to take on a larger role in their careers. In our Chennai office, we are hiring a Senior BIM Coordinator who specializes in Electrical.

Core Responsibilities:

Responsible for executing assigned project tasks and maintaining quality delivery by following industry and DBM Vircon standards. There is also a mentoring aspect to the role with the person responsible for supporting more junior members and setting the standard for the team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

General:

Understanding the engagement type, scope, milestones and deliverables of the project from the setup phase, to project closure;

Day-to-day execution of the project or specific tasks within the project;

Contributing to junior staff development through mentoring/overseeing.

Contributing to or delivering reporting.

Working with the Team Lead to develop and optimise digital workflows, processes, and applications;

Collaborating to developing project-specific digital engineering / BIM plans, considering current standards;

Contributing to innovation within the company in areas/technologies that support DBM Vircon's vision and goals, including:

Identifying innovation opportunities where the company would benefit from better processes or potential platform technologies;

Working with DBM Vircon Leadership to develop strategies on how to proceed, assistance in developing the business case for innovation projects;

Taking part in R&D working groups.

Technical:

Selection of cables as per the actual load, Voltage drops and the environment conditions.

Selection of switch gear and Breaker ratings as per the actual requirement.

Preparation of a Single line diagram.

Preparation of DB Schedule and Coordination with panel builder for material ordering.

Preparation of lighting layout with all lux level calculations.

Preparation of cable tray and Electrical panel layout.

Selection of Transformer, UPS and DG as per the load requirement.

Development of fibre allocation/loop diagram.

Development of Input / Output list.

Preparation of Interconnection diagram.

Preparation of Electrical fire gas system.

Development of Layouts for Installation / Termination / Hook up / Interconnection Diagram.

Preparation of Bill of Material.

Development of Load Calculation and Transformer Sizing.

Electrical Design with BIM Project Management, as well as MEP Coordination duties that include checking and reviewing DD, CD sets and Shop drawings.

Troubleshooting digital systems and refining best practices.

Auditing models and other digital content for compliance with project requirements, including maintenance of model audit schedules and hosting of coordination meetings.

Experience Required:

Solid understanding of digital engineering / BIM processes;

Comprehensive understanding and awareness of modelling and drafting;

Capability of creating federated models and utilising these for digital engineering workflows;

Solid understanding of the design and construction processes used across all stages of the project (industrial and/or infrastructure and/or commercial sectors) lifecycle;

Experience with OpenBIM workflows, interoperability and exchange between various authoring and BIM management tools;

A sound understanding of relational databases and data requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project;

Ability to work efficiently in small to large multi-disciplinary teams, and share and transfer knowledge within teams;

Initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.

Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the AEC industry, Electrical Design and BIM background.

Software and Technology Knowledge Required:

Revit Modelling - LOD 300 to LOD 500

Revit Family Creation - Parametric and non-parametric family

Navis Works - Clash detection, Set and viewpoints, and 4D and 5D Simulation

Auto Cad - Creation of Blocks and Layers

MS Word - Document creation, Layout and Statistics

MS Excel - Document creation, Graph chart and report generation

Electrical Design - Concept to the Detail Design stage
