Introduction:

The customer is seeking an individual with Elasticsearch and big data search skills to support the development and maintenance of a Java/Springboot application interfacing with an Elasticsearch data tier and the transition to a Python-based solution. The candidate will work within an Agile environment, supporting integration with multiple applications and representing the development team in Technical Exchange meetings.

Role:

Support the transition of a Java/Springboot application to a Python-based solution interfacing with Elasticsearch.

Maintain the legacy search environment until it can be retired.

Provide new feature development, ongoing operations, and maintenance of the next-generation platform in coordination with an Agile Development team.

Work within a dynamic Agile environment, supporting integration with multiple applications and representing the development team in Technical Exchange meetings.

Requirements:

Demonstrated experience developing solutions with Elasticsearch.

Demonstrated experience with developing and supporting Java/Springboot applications.

Demonstrated experience developing solutions in Python.

Demonstrated experience supporting multiple inter-related services.

Demonstrated experience working with REST services.

Demonstrated experience with AWS Services and Cloud-based development.

Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and maintaining Cloud Infrastructure services such as EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, and VPC.

Demonstrated experience working in an Agile (Sprint or Kanban) development environment.

Demonstrated experience exhibiting analytical skills to assess customer requirements and create innovative solutions.

Demonstrated experience exhibiting problem-solving skills, including debugging and testing web applications.

Demonstrated experience in design, including the techniques, tools, and principals involved in producing precision technical plans, drawings, and models.

Demonstrated experience in Systems Analysis, such as determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.

Demonstrated experience in identifying technology gaps in current capabilities and processes.

Nice to have:

Demonstrated experience with on-demand computing solutions such as Kubernetes or Lambda.

Demonstrated experience with Big Data tools and environments containing structured and unstructured data.

Demonstrated experience with monitoring and event management in AWS Services.

Demonstrated experience creating and implementing automation for cloud platforms and monitoring and alerting.

Demonstrated experience with authentication services.

Demonstrated experience configuring Application Programming Interface Gateways.

Demonstrated experience deploying applications into a managed cloud environment.

Demonstrated experience configuring security features in a managed cloud environment.

Demonstrated experience managing CI-CD (Continuous Integration – Continuous Delivery) pipelines through tools such as Cloud Formation and JENKINS.

Demonstrated experience in conveying technical information to non-technical individuals.

Demonstrated experience with Springboot 2.79, Java 11.17, JPA, or Elasticsearch Java API Client.

Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving issues related to development across multiple security boundaries, including secure and unsecured environments.
