Position summary: The Director of Information Technology directs IT operations including computer operations, technical support, systems analysis and programming staff. This person also plans the IT strategies necessary to keep the company competitive in the future and establishes technical priorities, standards and procedures. Provides strategic leadership in developing and implementing IT initiatives aligned with the organizational goals. The Director of Information Technology ensures sufficient systems capacity for organizational needs. Ensure that the standards and technical policies in place at The M. K. Morse Company are followed. Position reports to VP, Finance.

Purpose: Provide the IT platform needed to manage the Company with accurate and timely information and system capabilities

Essential functions - The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of IT projects and ensure timely delivery.

Manage and optimize the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring security, data backups, reliability, and scalability.

Ensure the physical and electronic security of the network and data housed within the network.

Lead a team of IT professionals fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure industry-leading compliance and efficiency.

Implement and maintain robust cyber security measures to safeguard sensitive information and data.

Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for their integration to enhance business processes.

Budget management for IT resources ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximum ROI.

Support achievement of annual objectives and improvement priorities through Strategic Goal Development (X-Matrix).

Assist with organizational strategic planning, annual planning, and budgeting processes.

Provide high availability, high performance and reliable computing solutions to the Company.

Consult with users, management, vendors, and IT team to resolve IT related issues in a timely manner.

Direct the daily operations of the IT Department.

Support initiatives to sustain positive change and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Implement a replacement schedule for hardware and software considering budget and capital requirements.

Control operational budget and expenditures.

Assess project feasibility and requirements.

Review project plans, assign projects and track projects.

Set IT policies and procedures and ensure adherence.

Recruit, hire, train and supervise IT team.

Provide technical leadership to the IT team.

Develop IT team through mentoring and training programs.

Skills, competencies and experience requirements:

10+ years of experience with proven track record of success.

Strong leadership and team-building skills.

Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, demonstrating successful strategic planning and execution.

Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget.

Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders and convey technical concepts to non-technical audience.

In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and emerging trends.

Leadership qualities including the ability to inspire and mentor a high performing IT team.

Familiar with regulatory compliance and data protection standards.

Analytical mindset, problem solving skills to address complex technological challenges.

Vendor management experience, negotiating contracts and maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Strong negotiation skills.

Accepts a high level of responsibility and accountability.

Able to develop successful working relationships with peers, IT team and suppliers.

Able to manage multiple projects effectively.

Must be well organized and possess a strong work ethic.

Microsoft Applications (M365)

Phone System Management (Zoom)

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s or higher level college degree in a related field required.

Supervises: Members of IT staff including Software Developers, Programmer Analysts, System Administrator, Network Application Development Manager, and contracted programmers.
