Our client, a renowned tech leader in the industry, is seeking a seasoned Prototyping Technician to join their Prototyping & Concept Team. This role focuses on rapidly building and iterating high-fidelity prototypes that express design intent and user experience, collaborating closely with Hardware Engineering, Research and Development, and Industrial Design teams.

THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

Collaborate with VR prototype teams to support builds, encompassing electrical and mechanical assembly, component-level placement/re-work, and aiding early concept development across the VR hardware division.

Conduct PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) and FPC (flexible printed circuit) rework within an electrical lab environment.

Work cross-functionally with teams including system engineering, product design, architecture, NPI, and research.

Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, prioritizing project workload to meet timeline constraints.

Demonstrate creativity, excellent verbal and written communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Ensure attention to detail while working as an integral part of the team.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS:

10+ years of experience in building prototypes or bench electrical assembly, bring-up, electro-mechanical integration, and electrical/mechanical debug.

Proficiency in soldering fine-pitched devices, 0201 or 0402 components, BGA/CSP, and reworking power components.

Ability to read and interpret schematics, locating components on PCBs using design schematics and layout viewers.

Experience generating comprehensive assembly/test documentation and sharing results.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Background in systems-level engineering development and testing with complex integrated electromechanical assemblies.

Hands-on experience with debugging tools and equipment (Oscilloscope, Multimeters, Logic Analyzers, etc.).

Knowledge of parts programming (FPGA, Flash, etc.) and capability to take scope measurements.
