Walter E. Smithe is growing, and we are adding designers to our team. Our designers have the unique joy of bringing design and happiness to their clients. As a Smithe designer, you will work in a beautiful and supportive retail showroom where you will work closely with residential clients to design rooms that inspire and delight.

While our most successful designers come from a variety of backgrounds, the following requirements are must haves for consideration:

Requirements:

3+ years professional experience in either luxury retail sales, business to business sales, interior design, or a related field. A career changer with a track record for longevity and success in your industry.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

A natural ability to engage and connect with other people, develop, and maintain professional relationships.

The drive to lead a sales process and achieve sales goals.

Highly motivated by the earning potential of commission.

Shows passion and proven knowledge of interior design.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to seek solutions from a client perspective.

The ability to manage multiple projects at once.

Comfort and ease with learning new technology to drive business and meet client needs.

Availability to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays.

Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license

The ability to move through a showroom at a pace that satisfies the needs of our clients.

$20 per hour for the first 4 months, then commission with option to switch to commission sooner
