Computer Numerical Control Machine Operator

Saxon Aerospace is currently hiring CNC Machinists for a growing manufacturing company near Woodinville, WA.

Pay: $21-$41/hr

*plus shift differential for Weekend shift*

As a CNC Machinist, you will set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines to create products in close tolerance, high quality machined parts from various types of metal.

CNC Machinist responsibilities:

Check machine to be used for missing, loose, or damaged equipment. Check oil and coolant levels and initiate maintenance service and/or repair ticket, as required.

Identify type of setup required. Prepare to set-up job (e.g., production orders, first lots and tool tryouts) or run previously set-up job by reviewing work order, tie-in sheets, operator's or setup documents, blueprints or CATIA plots.

Ensure that correct material (e.g., type, size, quantity) and tools or fixtures were issued and are free from visible defects.

Edit speeds and feeds for machining programs within established guidelines for developmental work or MTO's, as required.

Select and attach machine accessories and holding devices per manufacturing plan. Verify apparatus is in good condition. Identify fixtures, shop aids, or templates to be used and fabricate shop aids, as required.

Retrieve and download CNC programs to machine controller using computing equipment and downloading from various servers/data bases.

Set machine coordinates or index points per CNC documents, including cutter offset/compensations using controller keyboard, dial indicator, probes, shims and edge finders.

Adjust machine settings (e.g., speeds and feeds) to correct machining problems or to prepare machine for next operation in sequence.

Submit completed job or in-process checks to layout or inspector at appropriate steps in sequence.

Preferred education and experience:

2+ years’ experience operating 3, 4, or 5-axis CNC machines

Knowledge of standardized tooling setups

Experience with LEAN, Kaizen, SMED, or other continuous improvement methods to reduce setup time and improve run times a plus
