Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Description

Independence Home Health is currently seeking a dedicated, qualified Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Miami-Dade County. This position focuses on the medical needs and treatment of infants, children, and/or adolescents primarily in their home according to the active plan of care, as given by the physician and other appropriate personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and implements individualized care plans for each patient, in collaboration with their families and healthcare team

Examines patients, and records health information and vitals

Conducts on-going patient care assessments

Administers prescribed medication, treatments, and therapies

Monitors and evaluates patient response to treatment, medication, and healing progress

Educates family members on patient clinical care to enhance positive outcomes

May deliver specialty treatments and therapies

Adjusts the child's care plan on an as needed basis

Executes preventative initiatives to protect quality of care for patients

Strong familiarity infection control procedures

Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practice

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of two years of pediatric LPN experience in a home setting

Graduate of an accredited school

Holds an active Florida LPN/LVN license

Commit to both part-time and per diem schedule

Ability to work weekdays, weekends and some holidays as needed

Must be willing to travel to patient's home

Must hold a current and valid CPR certification
