Job Description -Development Engineer Vehicle Personalization

Development of vehicle accessory parts from the concept phase until start of production – for production fitment, modification center and dealership fitment

Part maintenance during production and in service

Application of all development processes, the related tools and specifications for the development of vehicle accessory parts

Execution of part development in line with the VP Engineering Procedure (FCSD-VPE-ENG-P-001)

Determination of effective concepts and solutions for the optimization of the part quality, part function and part cost with consideration of the requested product attributes

Development of work plans for the projects and tracking of the project plans

Management of conflicting product attributes and priorities

Providing benchmark data for the product commodity including cost and quality projections

Creation of designs and constructions for accessory parts including 3D and 2D CAD

Execution of capability and interface studies for the owned parts in collaboration with neighbor parts and systems

Interfacing with the engineering teams of neighbor parts and systems (internal) and with suppliers (external)

Support of Purchasing, STA and the quality organization on matters concerning the related vehicle accessory parts

Determination of enhancements to existing test standards and specifications based on benchmarking and lessons learned from product concerns

Management of the design verification and testing for sign-off readiness

Presentation of the design verification report to the European VP Engineering management for final approval

Support of quality examinations on failed or claimed parts including the determination of potential resolutions

WERS release of the related vehicle accessory parts

Lead the feature ownership for dedicated FCSD-VP engineering features.

Lead and manage the onsite team technically and report to people leader.
