Senior Accountant - Real Estate - CPA

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client, a fast-growing real estate firm. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of their financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in their day-to-day financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and analysis to contribute to the success of their organization.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Analyze financial data, budget variances, and key performance indicators to provide meaningful insights and recommendations to management.

Month End Closes: Coordinate and perform all month-end closing activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accruals. Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department leaders to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.

Tax Compliance and Audits: Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to complete tax filings, including income tax returns, sales tax, and property tax filings. Assist with audits, ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, and respond to inquiries as needed.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. Implement new systems or technologies and train team members as required.

Team Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, assist in their professional development, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the overall success of the organization.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.

5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the real estate industry; strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) required.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, etc.), Microsoft Excel, and other MS Office applications. Experience with financial reporting tools is a plus.

Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills; ability to identify and resolve complex financial issues.

Solid knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to provide guidance to junior staff.

High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
