Job Summary:
The Electrical Solar Foreman will oversee and manage the project or job from start to finish. The Electrical Solar Foreman will meet or beat the estimated labor hours and material dollars.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The Electrical Solar Foreman will supervise electricians, solar installers, and any sub-contractor that are placed on their job site.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Once the company is awarded projects, a Project Manager will assign a project to you to manage
Manage your project from start to finish
Must be willing to travel and work out of town
You will manage your project by coordinating with customers, contractors, and all trades
Order and manage manpower, tools, and materials through vendors each day before the allotted time
Plan, layout, installation of electrical wiring, roof racking, PV cables, inverters, wiring equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
You must be willing to make decisions and be accountable for them
Be neat with installations
Problem-solving skills
Your goal would be to meet or beat the estimated labor hours and material dollars
Attend job meetings as required
Perform weekly Tool Box talks and daily Site Safety Checklists through Site Docs
Assist with field training and development of apprentices
Promote sales of added items the customer needs
Make sure all paperwork is completed in a timely manner. Paperwork includes work authorizations, as-built drawings, purchase orders, credit cards, gas receipts, and About Time regularly
Include your 'Foreman in Training' as much as possible to teach the duties and responsibilities of a Foreman
Closeout the project with a happy and satisfied customer
Show great Leadership skills in setting good examples while representing Garber Electric
Always promote and be conscious of safety and have zero safety violations, wear proper PPE, follow company policy, customers policy, and OSHA
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
Any call off or requested time off must go through before your scheduled shift
Communicate requested time off through the "Electric Time Off" email with a 2-week notice.
Customer Service - Maintain and build relationships with all customers you are responsible for and provide exceptional customer service at all times. Zero customer complaints. No unjustified loss of customers or vendors.
Required Skills/Abilities
Must possess a great can-do attitude
Analyze areas that need improvements
Show good Leadership skills and set good examples for your electricians
Possess great punctuality and ready to work at your scheduled time and for the duration
Always have your required tools as per the tool list, be attentive to and carry out instructions, and be neat with installations
Maintain a clean appearance (includes vehicle and maintenance)
Possess good communication skills
Communicate well with the Project Manager and Dispatch. If you do not understand, please ask.
Communicate job status with PM daily or as needed
Maintain and build relationships with all employees by working well as a team with co-workers and show good respectful communication skills with them.
Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable through Garber Electric's insurance.
Must know how to read and understand Blueprints
Must have adequate knowledge of the Electrical Code (NEC)
Must know how to troubleshoot electrical circuitry and issues
Must have cell phone availability with proper voice mail recording for Garber Electric, email, and texting capability
Must have a valid DL
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform work in all weather conditions
Must be able to work from heights including ladders, roofs, elevated lifts
Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks such as digging trenches to lay conduit or living heavy objects of 75 pounds or more.
