We are looking for talented and innovative individuals to join our team!

The Sr. Laboratory Technician position will be more involved in detailed testing and use of equipment. Data collection as well as some analysis is expected. Successful candidate can note deviations in performance not anticipated. May occasionally have contact with internal and external customers and vendors.

Dimensions of Position:

Schedule: MON-FRI 7AM-3:30 PM or 8AM - 4:30PM

Compensation Expectations: Starting at $50k

• Performs tests and set-up on numerous pieces of equipment.

• Extracts and processes test data.

• Performs routine analysis to check accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of test data.

• May construct components of equipment or setup nonstandard experiments.

• Employee is occasionally required to exercise independent judgment as to specific method.

• Requires occasional use of organizational and planning skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Trade School/Associates degree or 3-5 years related work experience preferred

• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing procedures. Knowledge of refractory products and applications is highly desirable.

• Experience working in an industrial R&D lab related to a materials industry (ceramics, glass, refractories, and metals)

• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with other required.

• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

• Strong computer skills required.

• High mechanical aptitude

• Attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

• Walking short distances through the department/building.

• Use hands/arms to operate required equipment.

• Lift objects up to 35 lbs. with or without assistance.

• Continuously stand, stoop, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, etc.
