The Master Data Specialist is responsible for efficiently entering, verifying, and maintaining product information, locations and hierarchies. The data specialist creates purchase orders and monitors EDI transactions. The role requires strong attention to detail, a deep understanding of retail operations, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role is key to supporting the buying department with accurate product information and managing the purchasing ins and outs of the system.

The Master Data Specialist reports directly to the Director of Retail Systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be a brand ambassador for The Paper Store

Accurately create and maintain Master Data in the Merchandising System

Upload or manually create new products and vendors in Merchandising.

Make changes to product or location Hierarchies as needed.

Create purchase orders within the merchandising system or upload using external tools.

Monitor the EDI Purchase orders and ASN’s from vendors.

Verify data for accuracy and completeness, making necessary corrections and adjustments as required.

Collaborate with various teams, including IT, buying, and inventory management, to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Monitor and address data discrepancies promptly to maintain data quality.

Assist in identifying data-related issues and proposing solutions to enhance data quality and process efficiency.

Assist in testing the Merchandising system when upgrades or changes are necessary.

Partner with business on ways to improve processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or related degree

5 + years relevant experience

Ability to work 3+ days/week at the Corporate Office in Acton, MA

Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, and appearance
