Tooling Technicians

$55K+ DOE

Position Summary

Ensure molds are repaired and fully functional to optimize quality, mold utilization and cavitation.

Primary Functions

· Disassembles, cleans and reassembles molds.

· Replaces worn or broken tooling.

· Utilizes production monitoring system to evaluate and continuously improve the mold preventative maintenance program on all molds. Properly document all preventative maintenance and mold improvements.

· Initiates communication and interaction with Manufacturing Team to maintain full cavitation, utilization and efficiencies of the molds.

· Actively participates in spare part analysis to develop cost efficient levels of spares. Maintains the established minimum inventory of spare components for each mold through coordination with the department Supervisor.

· Supports the team concept by performing multiple functions as assigned by Management.

· Performs preventative maintenance activities to the molds and maintains the customer’s assets in peak functional condition.

· Supports the QMS by adhering to the system requirements.

· Understands and follows plant safety rules. Helps to identify and eliminate any safety hazard or concern. Assists in monitoring of quality of work output.

· Maintains compliance with company policy and procedures.

· Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

· Responsible for reporting any problems or concerns to direct Supervisor.

· Maintains good working relations with all other employees. Strives to have no conflicts with other employees.

· Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.

· Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Ability to use a drill press, pedestal grinder, and basic hand tools.

· Physical skills necessary to utilize mold disassembly; assemble tools and handle molds.

· Self-motivated to learn and perform job tasks to meet or exceed customer and company expectations.

· Demonstrates the capacity to work at an efficient rate to meet production goals and standards.

· Effectively communicates with others both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to work 12-hour shifts, as applicable.
