JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Kitchen Service Coordinator

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt Full-Time

DEPARTMENT: Catholic Social Services, Women of Hope

Housing & Homeless Services Division

REPORTS TO: Program Director

DIRECT REPORTS: kitchen aide, mental health workers, maintenance worker, volunteers

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees the total operation of the kitchen and coordinates volunteers.

The primary responsibility of the kitchen manager is to oversee total operation of the kitchen, volunteers, and cleanliness of the building/program. Provide supervision of the mental health workers and ensure the mental health workers maintain daily support of life skills for residents and cleanliness of the building. Ensure all residents receive proper support and certify services are delivered in accordance with state regulations and DBHID requirements.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares menus in keeping with daily food guide and PCH regulations.

Does weekly food shopping/ordering and coordinates all food preparation and kitchen maintenance.

Prepares the mid-day meals, Monday through Friday; preps the evening meals as needed.

Responsible for submitting all receipts for purchases and for keeping within the food budget.

Collaborate with staff regarding women's celebrations and holidays and prepare accordingly.

Supervises overnight staff; maintenance/janitorial staff; kitchen aide and volunteers.

Available to work some evenings and weekends as needed.

Coordinates volunteers and food donations; assists program director and social work supervisor with other donations affecting residents.

Attends staff meetings and makes use of in-service opportunities.

Assists the program director in other administrative duties as needed.

REPRESENTATIVE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Associate degree (BA preferred) with some supervisory and food services experience preferred.

Holds or is willing to obtain certification in safe food handling.

Holds or is willing to obtain certification in CPR and first aid.

Has a desire, interest, and ability to work with women with severe and persistent mental health who have experienced homelessness.

Has excellent organizational skills, is flexible, hospitable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Holds a valid state driver's license.

Has or willing to obtain direct care staff person training course/test online and has submitted the certificate of training.

Available to work some evenings and weekends, as needed.
