Position Summary
The position is primarily responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing all types of electrical and mechanical equipment required by our coal mining processes in and about the mine facilities in compliance with company policies, state regulations, federal regulations and applicable National Electric Code.

Responsible to perform required weekly examinations on assigned equipment to assure the equipment is in safe operating condition and meets legal requirements of both state and federal laws
Maintain required state/federal legal records of weekly electrical examinations
Must safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mine
Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs low, medium and high voltage AC and DC motors, circuits and equipment
Troubleshoots and repairs frequency motor drives, DC motor drives, atmospheric monitoring equipment, communications equipment and Programmable Logic Controllers
Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic circuits
Adapt and install new upgraded or substitute equipment or devices, as needed
Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of mine management and co-workers
Requires attention to detail and must be thorough in completing work tasks
Required Skills and Experience
Requires High School Diploma or State Certified G.E.D.
Requires Pennsylvania Experienced Miner Certificate
Requires current Federal Electrical Card
Must have a minimum of one-year proven electrical/mechanical experience
Must be 18 years of age
Must be available to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requires and work a shift rotation
Must be able to work as scheduled and arrive to the worksite promptly to receive work assignment and prepare for the start of the shift
Must be able to work safely and effectively as a part of a team
Must be able to perform heavy work as defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles which may include but not limited to lift, carry, pull/push, climb, shovel, walk, or pry. *physical demands of the job are subject to change based on industry demands
Must be able to work on/near moving equipment as required by job
Must be able to understand and grasp mining concepts and safety strategies
Must have a minimum of 1-year underground mining experience
Must be able to understand and grasp trouble shooting techniques for electrical and mechanical systems
Must possess effective critical thinking and comprehension skills
