Job Description
The Career Services Advisor (CSA) works with all students requesting career search assistance. This position is responsible for coaching students and alumni in every facet of their career search including resume writing, cover letter preparation, practice interviews, networking, job search assistance, thank you letters, as well as all other related career planning needs. Additionally, the Career Services Advisor collects and records Graduate File information on student employment and career outcomes. The CSA provide support to the university’s philosophy of Service to Customer, both internally and externally, in a professional and timely manner that supports achievement of the University’s goals and objectives.
Contact students starting at CTU within the first 3 weeks of their first term to introduce Career Services, identify career goals, provide career coaching and set expectations on department support.
Collect necessary Graduate File documentation from all students to record student outcomes and support the university Employer Experience Research survey.
Thoroughly document and maintain student file on career search goals, services provided, and student progress, student contact/activity and career outcomes.
Execute communication strategy for information sharing and student engagement.
Work with students in detail to coach on all aspects of career searching including creating a resume, conducting practice interview sessions, assisting with career planning and presenting applicable employment opportunities.
Follow up with students based on the student support needs.
Partner with employers on career opportunities for students and conducting employer outreach to facilitate employment.
Meet monthly goals on student interaction, Graduate File completion and other goals as assigned.
Communicate with students via phone, email, live chat and in-person ensuring a quality service experience.
Develop, market and present career related materials and content to students, alumni and university constituents.
Follow all accreditation, state and federal regulations in preparation of a Graduate file for each student.
Uphold all university policies, procedures, integrity, and ethical standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Excellent in-person and online presentation skills to both small and large groups.
Skilled with Microsoft Office Suit including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Required Experience
Bachelor degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent)
6 months experience in Customer Service, Career Coaching, Staffing or Recruitment
Preferred
1 year experience in a business related position
