Effektiewe uitvoering van produksiepraktyke van gewasse – grondvoorbereiding, plant, kunsmis, bespuiting, besproeiing en oes van gewasse.

Goeie rekordhouding – begrotings en kostes.

Koördineer daaglikse plaasaktiwiteite en hanteer uitdagings en enige take wat voorkom.

Beplanning van plant-, besproeiings- en oesskedules.

Bestuur die aankope van saad, kunsmis, chemikalieë ens.

Effektiewe bestuur van permanente en seisoenale werkers.

Handhawing van Health and Safety standaarde.

Markverwante salaris met verblyf op die plaas.

Tertiary agricultural qualification: degree/diploma will be advantageous.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in vegetable cultivation under pivot irrigation.

Experience of growing vegetables in tunnels / shade netting will be an advantage.

Good planning and organization skills.

Good communication and leadership qualities.

The ability to motivate workers and to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

Self-disciplined and hard working. Duties:

Effective execution of production practices of crops – land preparation, planting, fertiliser, spraying, irrigation and harvesting of crops.

Good record keeping – budgets and costs.

Coordinate daily farm activities and deal with challenges and any tasks that arise.

Planning of planting, irrigation, and harvest schedules.

Manage the purchases of seeds, fertilizers, chemicals etc.

Effective management of permanent and seasonal workers.

Maintaining Health and Safety standards.

Market related salary with accommodation on the farm.
