Description
3 to 4 years of Experience in Interior Plastic Injection Molding environment is required.
Plan, coordinate and direct all tool room functions to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Troubleshoot problems with injection molds.
2. Repair, fix and implement engineering changes of molds.
3. Develop and implement corrective and preventative actions.
4. Make fixture details.
5. Communicate with outside vendors when outsourcing.
6. Work with various departments to implement customer concerns.
7. Ensure the effective implementation of TS 16949 standards.
8. Ensure safety and housekeeping standards are maintained.
9. Follow the safety rules, report safety problems and all injuries, regardless of severity.
10. Ensure plant safety and 5S housekeeping standards are maintained.
Physical Demands:
Standing – regularly required on concrete floor
Walking – regularly required
Sitting – occasionally required
Hands – needed to run all sorts of machines, wrenches and tools
Reaching – frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms
Lifting – regularly, sometimes up to 40 lbs
Vision – 20/20 vision, good depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Clothing – requires protection from chips, dirt, grease, solvents, etc.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum high school diploma, 2-year apprentice program at Community College helpful. Basic trigonometry plus 8 years experience as a mold maker (Journeyman status) desired.
