JOB OVERVIEW

The Recreation Clerk is a part-time role, focusing primarily on ensuring exceptional customer service for visitors to the Family Activity Center. Under the general direction of the Recreation Director, this position is crucial in managing registrations, addressing inquiries, and ensuring smooth financial transactions.

The Family Activity Center is open the following Hours:

Summer Hours:

Monday – Friday: 5:00 am – 10:00 am, 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Saturday: 7:00 am – 9:00 pm

Winter Hours

Monday – Friday: 5:00 am – 8:30 am, 3:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Saturday: 7:00 am – 10:00 pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the primary point of contact for all customers of the Family Activity Center.

Manage registration processes, ensuring accurate recording and collection of fees for recreational programs.

Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from the public regarding the Family Activity Center's offerings, equipment, facilities, parks, and programs.

Handle customer feedback and complaints, striving for resolution and improved satisfaction.

Safeguard and reconcile daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate records.

Enforce Family Activity Center policies and guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the customer service and registration areas.

Collaborate with the team and occasionally assist the supervisor with inventory management and other administrative tasks.

Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

High School diploma or equivalent.

Prior experience in a customer service role, preferably in a recreational or community setting preferred.

OR a combination of education and experience.

Community CPR and First Aid certifications must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.

A valid Utah Driver's license is required within (30) days of hire.

Skills & Knowledge

Strong customer service ethos and a friendly, approachable demeanor.

Effective verbal and listening communication skills.

Ability to handle stressful situations with grace and professionalism.

Computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software.

Knowledge of basic office administration and understanding of relevant policies and procedures.

Certifications and Other Requirements

Must complete cash handling and receipt training.

Background check is mandatory.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Capable of lifting 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. consistently.

Proficient use of office equipment, such as computers, fax machines, and telephones.

Regular activities include walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and occasionally lifting or carrying. Effective communication – both listening and speaking – is crucial.
