Job Purpose
This role oversees teams that are responsible for engineering, installing, and maintaining high-quality modern solutions to complex problems that define the future of SEG compute and cloud platforms. This role is also responsible for leading and growing teams, as well as collaborating with product development leaders to develop robust, high-performance solutions for our customers. This role mentors and guides the technical decisions of the teams they oversee to set SEG up for long-term success, both as a product and as a team. Develops and implements business plans, policies, and procedures. Collaborates with other department leaders to prioritize project requests and incidents. Evaluates results within business units to determine if organizational objectives are being met and recommends and implements solutions to increase efficiency. Assesses and resolves issues as related to cost, design, and implementation of cloud and computer systems.

· Strong knowledge with the compute platform domain including on premises, PaaS and cloud technology.
· Experience working with computer and networking equipment; multitasking, problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
· Strong knowledge of the following: server hardware and software, enterprise storage, cloud services, containers, firewalls, VPNs, LAN, MAN, WAN, TCP/IP protocols, routers, switches, gateways.
· Expertise in business continuity and disaster recovery
· Experience managing an engineering team(s) on large-scale projects with technical deep-dives into cloud, compute hardware, scripts, networking, operating systems, and/or storage.
· Detailed knowledge of container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes.
· Experience in leading cross-functional teams to deliver important business outcomes.
· Experience in leading large-scale distributed systems engineering teams.
· Experience in overseeing and managing large IT Vendor agreements-direct vendor management, pricing negotiation, contract review and service level agreements
· Strong execution mindset with a vision to evolve the platforms and teams.
