Position Overview
As the Accountant I, you will ensure the accounting records related to Accounts Payable and other general ledger accounts for the Credit Union are maintained accurately and that records are adequately maintained.

The position’s essential duties include the following:
Creation and processing of journal vouchers.
Reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts.
Processing periodic government-mandated payments
Ensure accounts payable documentation is properly maintained.
Review payments to determine if a prepaid or fixed asset is created.
Updates logs and prepaid and Fixed Asset General Ledger modules.
Provided backup support to the Accounting Department
Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Education
A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
Experience
Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
