Structured Cabling System Designer

Job Description

DBR is hiring Structured Cabling System Designers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the preparation and delivery of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design documentation including drawings and specification of structured cabling infrastructure that support Telecommunication, Security, Audio Visual and other IP based systems using Revit with and AutoCAD

Preparing program requirements and basis of design reports

Comprehensive coordination with clients, owners, and design team members

Facilitating/Attending design/coordination meetings and providing meeting input and documentation

Review and approve shop drawings and product data submittals and responding to RFIs

Conduct periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with contract documents, field coordination of installation work; reviewing and analyzing test results

Perform site surveys; document and submit project field observations

Assist and contribute with project management functions

QUALIFICATIONS:

3+ years of experience in structured cabling system design or integration of horizontal cabling, inside and outdoor backbone cabling, building security, access control, video surveillance, and audio-visual systems design

Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to assist with project management

Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, AutoCAD, and Revit application software

Ability to complete construction documents including drawings and specifications

Ability to review submittals, answer RFI’s, and perform field observation

RCDD certification is a plus
