Aerial Mapping Technician / Stereocompiler
DAS Geospatial is in its 47th year as the most widely utilized Aerial Mapping provider in the State of Texas.Engineers, Surveyors, and Developers rely on DAS ability to provide precise imagery and geographic map information to help design new highways, subdivisions, lakes, pipelines, and much more.
DAS Production team is a highly driven group that is seeking to expand its production team. We are seeking motivated individuals who are available to work full-time with overtime potential.
A successful candidate is self-motivated, proactive, detailed oriented with a high degree of attention to detail and quality production.
Responsibilities
The Aerial Mapping Technician position is responsible for creating design level planimetric maps and digital terrain models, which will be used to support planning, design, and construction. This position will use stereo photogrammetry to compile and extract data from aerial photography and LiDAR data into comprehensive three-dimensional datasets.
Planimetric Data Compilation and Extraction
Measure and validate ground control points within the project stereo models
Read and validate ground control points within the project stereo models
Utilize stereo photogrammetry techniques to compile planimetric data from aerial photography
Utilize LiDAR data to extract planimetric data
Digital Terrain Modeling
Develop digital terrain models (DTMs) using acquired data to provide a three-dimensional representation of the terrain and its features
Quality Assurance
Read, review, and understand each projects technical specifications and requirements
Read and validate ground control points within the project stereo models
Run analysis software to ensure the data is clean
Ensure the accuracy and quality of maps and digital terrain models produced with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to project requirements and standards
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven experience in aerial mapping, photogrammetry, or related fields
Proficiency in stereo photogrammetry techniques and software tools such MicroStation, DAT/EM Systems, and AutoCAD
Understanding of aerial mapping standards, principles, and applications
Familiarity with LiDAR data extraction
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills for collaborating with Project Managers, Production Managers, Team Members, and other stakeholders
Ability to meet or beat production budgets and deadlines
Committed to producing high-quality work with a focus on accuracy and precision
Adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies
