Thompson Hospitality is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will provide support to the accounting department, assisting with various tasks.

Responsibilities:

Processing invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders accurately and efficiently

Assisting in accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks

Reconciling bank statements and credit card transactions

Maintaining accurate and organized financial records

Assisting with month-end and year-end close procedures

Generating financial reports as required

Assisting with payroll processing

Collaborating with team members to support overall department goals

Adhering to company policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with accounting principles

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)

Previous experience (2 years) in an accounting or finance role preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices

Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

You must have tenacity, excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a self-starter with the ability to work with little to no direction and take initiative.
