Responsibilities:
The BioMedical Technician I monitors and Participates in the preventive maintenance, electrical safety and equipment repair programs for basic and/or specialty medical equipment. Maintains preventive maintenance records on all equipment included in the program. Coordinates service of equipment with outside vendors as required. Maintains efficient department operation while requiring compliance with all JACHO, Federal, state and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. May help in projects as assigned and may assist in the day-to-day operation of the clinical engineering department.
Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect risk level 2 or lower, and selected level 1 medical equipment.
Preform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, and document equipment performance.
Maintain a high quality of work completed on equipment, with expedient response.
Responds to work requests, changes, and tasks associated with the FMP.
Assist senior biomedical engineering technicians with repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of medical equipment and systems.
Maintains biomedical equipment supplies inventory; anticipating needs; managing orders.
Performs other duties as requested and observed by supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED, required
Vocational / Technical trade school and/or Equivalent work/military experience in electronics, electrical/biomedical engineering or related field serving electrical or mechanical equipment, preferred
2 year / Associate Degree in electronics technology or equivalent, preferred
Experience:
Minimum one year experience with mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and repair (preferably with medical electronics), preferred
License/Certification:
NYS Driver's License, required

Physical Requirements:
