Marine Outside Machinist

Description:

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Outside Machinists for projects located in San Diego, CA. This is an opportunity with all shifts available and the pay rate is up to $36/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:

Install, maintain and repair ships and propulsion systems

Working with steam, turbine, electrical and diesel propulsion systems

Rudders and steering gear, elevator and Navy unrep systems

Installs, repairs and maintains ships fluid systems

Install and test various shop equipment

Other duties assigned

Requirements:

Must be US Citizen

Must have 3 years of marine mechanic experience working on diesel systems

Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check

Must have Respirator fit completed prior to starting

Must be available for all shifts

Must have the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, written instructions and technical manuals

Must have the ability to read and comprehend hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams

Must be capable assembling and installing complex mechanical systems while meeting alignment criteria of systems and equipment

Must have understanding of both imperial and metric measuring systems

Must have shop mathematic skills with understanding of geometry, trigonometry and work with decimals and fractions

Must have hand and power tools and portable machining tools

Must have OSHA 10 Maritime and Firewatch Certification
