JOB SUMMARY:

Plans, manages, and provides work direction for infrastructure network team, voice telecom team, and audio-visual support team in support of 15,000 network, voice, and audio-visual devices throughout the County. Establishes guidelines to monitor Network and Telcom performance and ensures network stability through the effective use of network monitoring systems. Develops operational policies and procedures and determines most efficient utilization of personnel and equipment. Strong focus on customer service delivery and meeting defined SLA response times for incidents. Oversee the planning, coordination and implementation of the county’s IT service delivery policies and measures. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

Responsibilities:

Plans, manages, and provides work direction for infrastructure, voice, and audio-visual teams. Ensuring customer service levels are adhered to and SLAs for response times are maintained.

Coordinates work performed by outside vendors and monitors vendor service levels that are utilized in support of special events such as emergency response, elections support and network deployments.

Participation and recommendation of new technology solutions for items such as Network Management, Infrastructure design, Remote connectivity support, and Justice Center Support.

Research and recommend technology in support of long-range infrastructure design and implementation planning.

Recommends and implements infrastructure policies and other technology standards to ensure adherence of approved disaster recovery procedures.

On call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to respond to network related problems and outages.

Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. High School/GED and four years of relevant professional experience may in addition to 7 years required experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.

7 years’ of work related experience

5 years’ experience leading, supervising, or managing teams or personnel in a technical environment.

Advanced knowledge of Cisco technology, protocols and security systems in a converged network environment which encompasses local, wide area, wireless and VoIP applications.

Strong verbal and written communications skills; interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, vendors, other employees, and elected officials.

Advanced technical certifications preferred.

SALARY RANGE: $43.56-$54.46 range per hour
