Overview:

CLOW VALVE METAL CASTING FACILITY HAS AN OPENING FOR A TEMPORARY IRON MELTER.

THIS IS A 1ST SHIFT POSITION -9AM-7PM

STARTING RATE OF PAY: $23.30

INSURANCE AVAILABLE AFTER 60 DAYS.

The successful candidate for the Iron Melt position will be responsible for preparing furnaces for the Iron Pour department and will be instrumental in creating components for CLOW valves and hydrants.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE FOR IRON MELT LINE WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

-Retrieval of cores from cart and bring to spomatic molding machine.

-Prepare drag and cope; blow debris from molds.

-Loading of cores into the drag by hand or using a hoist.

-General clean-up of area.

-Stocking up pallets.

-Clean core parting line; repair voids; dip cores or paint with core wash.

-Palletize core by hand or with lifting device.

-Advance full pallet onto one of three conveyor lines.

-Inspect core for damage and dip core in core wash.

-Set oven conveyor speed according to template settings.

-Place dipped cores on oven conveyor to be dried and transferred to the end of oven conveyor.

-Inspect cores for damage, finish core by sanding invest.

-Retrieval of cores from cart and bring to spomatic molding machine.

-Placing sand at furnace doors to prepare furnace.

-Using a crane to position the pouring bucket.

-Charging furnace.

-Shoveling of graphite.

-Sorting items as they move down a conveyor belt.

-Separating them into designated tubs.

-Occasionally required to hook castings and pull into appropriate tub.

-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE FOR IRON MELT LINE WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

-Frequent lifting/carrying of up to 10 lbs, some lifting of up to 50 lbs.

-Frequent lifting greater than 40 times per hour.

-Bending/ twisting/ and standing for greater than 8 hours.

-Ability to read and write and understand training and instruction.

-Ability to work in extreme heat.

-Must be able to utilize and work around moving machinery (i.e cranes, hoists, forklifts as needed).

-Must be able to utilize proper PPE including: respirator, metatarsal guarded boots, eye protection, hearing protection, apron, gloves and sleeves.
