Tesco Controls’ core business is designing and building process control systems and power solutions for municipalities and industrial clients to keep critical infrastructure operating efficiently. Job Summary:

The selected candidate will assist in the design and execution of Engineering scope. This includes specification reviews, development program timelines and reports, design reviews, simple mechanical designs, documentation packages, preproduction builds and transfers to production. Provide technical support of mature electronic products currently in production. Provide entry level technical support on basic, stand-alone engineering assignments under direct supervision. Using prescribed methods, perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

Essential Functions:

Design mid/lower level complex electrical, controls, and communication equipment and systems to provide automation for water/wastewater industry projects

Interpret and assist customer specifications and plans and translate them into a defined engineering scope and deliverables

Complete/support all phases of the engineering process to insure accurate and timely completion of customer approvals and manufacturing drawings

Develop detailed engineering documentation including single-line and three-line diagrams, panel elevations, general arrangements, and wiring schematics

Lead and mentor designer teams to convert engineering concepts into working schematics

Contribute towards establishing Engineering schedule, including the on-time release of equipment specifications, bills of materials, and customer documentation

Support the Project Manager to address technical concerns with internal and external stakeholders

Provide engineering expertise during estimation, sales, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, and operations

Provide technical direction, serve as a point of contact or business liaison, prepare briefings for senior management and assist in problem resolution specific to the program/project

Review Tesco’s design tools, procedures, and processes and ensure engineering deliverables are compliant to design standards

Demonstrated Skills:

Ability to read and understand schematics

Attend formal training programs, and review journals and other publications related to the field to help develop new skills or improve existing skills

Ability to understand and design, all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and machinery

Understanding of manufacturing workflow, including planning activities

Self-motivated, ability to work autonomously and manage workloads to meet assigned deadlines

Education and Knowledge:

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred

Knowledge of electrical engineering design principles and methodologies

Working and current knowledge of codes and industry standards

Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) and Adobe Acrobat

knowledge of AutoCAD/ AutoCAD Electrical

Experience:

Minimum of 5-15 years of experience in electrical and controls design

At least 4-8 years of experience in the design and analysis of automation systems

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Experience in a regulated industry is preferred
