The Scheduler/Expeditor will maintain the efficiency for the manufacturing floor, to ensure timely delivery to customers by prioritizing work order schedules and distributing them to the floor, oversee the availability of materials and tooling needed, and maintain inventory levels.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The skill and ability to audit, schedule, and re-schedule work orders, file, and distribute work orders.

Responsible for determining where to load production orders, working with sales on cancellations, rescheduling and other changes, documenting, and filing, issuing various paperwork and information.

Contact point between outside process vendors and company.

Must coordinate external and internal production flow to meet on-time delivery to the customer.

Coordinates and issues purchase orders for outside processing on parts.

Facilitates the flow of materials, components, tooling, paperwork, etc. in and between departments to conform to production schedules.

Monitor and make recommendations to match manpower/machine capacities with group/corporate schedule requirements.

Gives special attention to rush orders, reports on status of items being expedited, and reports major problems to superior.

Communicate with internal and external sales team with information on customer data.

Maintain good housekeeping in assigned area.

Additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or his/her designee.

Knowledge of materials, shop operations, matching capacities and capabilities, detail and accuracy oriented, and the ability to learn product line.

Read, write and simple shop mathematics, and/or charts. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Either APICS certification as a CPIM or currently working towards certification, or equivalent is preferred, but not required.

Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, process sheets, documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Have good communication skills.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be flexible in work assignments and be able to work cooperatively as a team member and demonstrate respect and courtesy to all internal and external customers.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Mircosoft office software; Manufacturing software and Database software.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee will be exposed to an office environment and also a factory environment with noise, oil, and smoke.

The employees will be working with computers, copy machines, calculator, scanners, telephones, and fax machines.
