Job Summary:

The Maintenance Planner plays a pivotal role in coordinating and executing activities within the Maintenance department, focusing on both scheduled plans and ad-hoc projects. This position involves scheduling, resource coordination, and fostering collaboration across departments to achieve organizational objectives. Additionally, the Maintenance Planner leads initiatives to enhance reliability-centered maintenance practices.

Job Duties:

Collaborate with relevant departments to generate department schedules based on production and maintenance needs.

Maintain a two-week planned maintenance schedule, ensuring timely execution of maintenance tasks.

Lead reliability-focused plans for addressing top 5 equipment issues.

Coordinate contractors for equipment repairs, rebuilds, and project work.

Assign Supervisors to lead projects based on equipment responsibility.

Maintain records of completed maintenance activities using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Direct Stock Room Administrator and Purchasing Specialist to ensure timely availability of materials.

Provide mentorship and guidance to direct reports, fostering their professional development and optimizing performance.

Manage the maintenance work order backlog, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the maintenance department.

Generate and provide necessary Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to Maintenance and Engineering Manager.

Discuss major projects with Director of Engineering, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Ensure plant facilities comply with relevant regulations, company standards, and budgetary considerations.

Estimate costs of personnel, parts, and supplies for scheduled maintenance and shutdowns.

Assist in preparing major equipment bids and recommend purchases as needed.

Stay updated on the latest manufacturing technologies and engineering concepts to enhance plant performance.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Familiarity with preventative maintenance techniques, scheduling, and safety management.

Knowledge of FDA regulations, GMPs, sanitation processes, and HACCP principles.

Understanding of efficient and safe manufacturing operations, including OSHA standards, product quality, and cost controls.

Ability to interpret work orders, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions accurately.
