Position Overview:

The Human Resources Associate will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the human resources department while working in a fast-paced office environment exposed to a broad range of tasks and assignments including management, recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, and training.

Reports to: Human Resources Director

Responsibilities include:

• Primary job duty: Conduct staff recruitment including job posting, applicant review, interview scheduling and confirmation, and interviewing. Coordinates and monitors applicants with background screening and testing processes. Conducts with new hire onboarding.

• Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. and provide clerical support to the HR department.

• Assists with payroll functions, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and serving as back-up for payroll processing, as needed.

• Maintains accurate and up to date HRIS, human resources files, records, and documentation while safeguarding for integrity and confidentiality. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are maintained, collected, and filed appropriately.

• Assists with training initiatives including updating materials and resources.

• Assists with planning and execution of organizational special projects and events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and other events.

Skill/Educational Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in related field required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Prior related office experience preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and extensive work on computer and/or telephone.

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

• Must be able to use stairs and navigate small spaces.
