The Role:

The Technology Development group at Life Edit focus on improving our genome editing systems with different editing modalities via optimizing RNA function. We are looking for an enthusiastic, independent, and self-motivated bench Scientist with a background in mammalian cell culture, RNA biology/Biochemistry and genome editing to support efforts developing curative gene editing therapies and gene edited cell therapies.

Here's What You'll Do:

Evaluate and optimize of Life Edit gene editing systems via RNA optimization.

Collaboratively develop and evaluate designs through high throughput screening.

Perform and troubleshoot experiments.

Collaborate closely with computational biology, gene editing and preclinical teams

Analyze experimental data and present scientific results at team research meetings.

Follow advancements published in the literature in the fields of gene editing and gene therapy as well as those presented at conferences.

Keep good notes and organize ELN documentation

Requirements:

Scientist I: PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, RNA biology or a related field with 0-1+ years of additional research experience.

Significant experience in culturing, transfecting, and assaying mammalian cell lines.

Experience with current molecular biology techniques including in vitro transcription and translation, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and NGS.

Demonstrate ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and analyze experiments independently.

Previous research experience with genome editing technologies, nucleases, RNA research, and/or DNA modifying or binding proteins is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Proven record of scientific excellence.
