We are looking for a senior clinical health economics researcher with a passion for evaluating the economic value and return on investment (ROI) for clinical and well-being services in behavioral health.

Tasks within this role will include hands-on dataset preparation and analysis, as well report generation and presentation.

Your expertise will be key in exploring and executing various methods and approaches to calculating value and return on investment in behavioral health.

You will also be responsible for integrating research evidence and internal data to inform decision making around our clinical practices and business proposals, serving as a subject matter expert.

You will also have the opportunity to collaborate on publishing in peer-reviewed journals on our applied research within an industry setting, as well as disseminating research findings and recommendations to broader teams within the company.

You will be a member of a highly skilled, fun, efficient, and collaborative team with an established track record for conducting, evaluating, and publishing peer-reviewed clinical and health economics research for Lyra’s programs.

In this role, you will work closely with other health economics and clinical researchers, psychologists, and data scientists.

By evaluating programs that reach hundreds of thousands of individuals, your work will help create meaningful positive change on a large scale.

Responsibilities

PhD in economics, health economics, health services research, or a closely related field (e.g., epidemiology, biostatistics) with extensive experience detailed below

5+ years (inclusive of graduate school) of experience conducting and publishing health economics research in a clinical field, including peer-reviewed publications

Ability to examine and digest clinical and health economics literature, with strong understanding of cost-effectiveness and health economics analysis methods and outcomes

Strong understanding of payer environment in the United States, including knowledge of behavioral health care coverage, claims, groupers, reimbursement, pricing, value drivers, and health policy

Advanced training and experience with research methods, study design, and statistics (e.g., propensity score matching, modeling)

Ability to generate datasets using queries, conduct statistical analyses, and maintain documentation using common statistical languages and packages (e.g., R, SQL, Python)

Strong verbal and written presentation skills, who can communicate research findings in an easy-to-understand manner

Comfort with technology and willingness to learn new tech tools

Flexibility to respond to constant change, feedback, and improvement in a fast-paced environment

Compassion, who approaches collaborations with an open mind, in a non-judgmental and flexible way, and is willing to communicate transparently with others and listen for their input and perspective

Qualifications

History of working in an industry setting, such as a start-up, health consulting/health insurance, or health-technology company with cross-functional teams

Previous experience in mental health research and outcomes-based performance

Previous involvement working with individuals with mental health challenges, including in clinical practice, community engagement, or volunteer work

Preference given to those who are able to work PST, MST, or CST hours due to the cross-functional nature of the role.
