Kitchen Assistants:
Kitchen Assistants must have a:
high school diploma
food safety training
ServSafe Certification
and one-year of kitchen experience. Kitchen Assistant are given responsibilities from the Chef. Kitchen Assistants should be skilled in cooking hot foods, preparing salads and sandwiches, and working a cold station.
Assisting in the kitchen: KItchen Assistant
Ø Food Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of ingredients, such as chopping
vegetables, peeling fruits, and measuring ingredients.
Ø Cleaning and Sanitizing: Keeping the kitchen area clean and sanitized by
washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Sweeping and mopping floors
and wiping down surfaces.
Ø Organizing Supplies: Ensuring that kitchen supplies, ingredients, and utensils are
well-organized and easily accessible.
Ø Assisting Cooks and Chefs: Providing support to cooks and chefs during food
preparation, such as fetching ingredients, carrying out instructions, and
maintaining a well-organized workspace.
Ø Stocking and Replenishing: Monitoring and restocking kitchen supplies, including
food items, condiments, and other essentials.
Ø Dishwashing: Responsible for washing, drying, and properly storing dishes, pots,
pans, and kitchen utensils.
Ø Trash Removal: Disposing of kitchen waste and maintaining proper waste
disposal procedures.
Ø Assisting with Food Service: Helping with the plating, serving of dishes, and
ensuring that the dining area is clean and well-maintained.
Ø Compliance with Safety and Hygiene Standards: Adhering to food safety and
hygiene regulations to maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment.
Ø Assisting in Inventory Management: Keeping track of inventory levels and
notifying the relevant personnel when supplies need to be replenished.
Ø Supporting Special Events: Assisting during busy periods, special events, or
catering functions as needed.
Ø Following Instructions: Following directions and guidelines provided by chefs,
