Role: Business Development Representative

Employment Type: Full-time (W2) with benefits

Workplace Type: Hybrid (Friday remote for first 3 months, potential for Wednesday and Friday remote thereafter)

Location: Reston, VA, USA

Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 per year plus commission based on added revenue

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Representative to join our Federal Solutions Team! In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and helping build relationships with both potential and current Comtech clients. This role requires a strong sales mindset, an interest in government contracting, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify potential clients and new business opportunities through research, outreach, and engagement (calls, emails, and networking).

Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients by providing exceptional customer service and follow-through.

Manage new and existing clients using company CRM system.

Attend conferences, industry days, and functions with Comtech team members to network and learn industry in a gradual way.

Keep up to date with IT trends and best practices within the government sector.

Provide weekly reports on outreach, prospective clients, and business opportunities to Federal Solutions Team.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

Self-motivated with an outcome-oriented mindset/work ethic.

Strong desire to learn and grow professionally.

Interest in government contracting and building client/partner relationships in the IT consulting domain.

Data oriented with basic proficiency in data analysis/manipulation (MS Excel).

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Prior experience in a customer-focused role (e.g. customer service or sales) preferred.

Familiarity with CRM platform or other sales/marketing tools is a plus.
