Job Summary:

Assemble machines, equipment, and subassembly following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications by performing the following duties:

Planning assembly procedures and following specifications.

Removing small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce a close fit between parts.

Drilling, tapping, or reaming holes.

Aligning components, and bolting, screwing, or riveting them together.

Installing moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and working them to test free movement.

Bending and installing pipe for hydraulic systems.

Aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes to assemble a system of gears.

Installing and testing electrical assemblies.

Testing or assisting in the testing operation of completed products.

Required Skills:

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Stand for long periods of time.
