Job Overview:
The Field Service Technician performing as a Grinder Pump Service Mechanic primarily performs hands-on troubleshooting and repair for Environment ONE grinder pumps and pump stations. This position involves in-shop and field service work supporting residential and Municipal customers throughout New England. Essential characteristics include good customer service skills, teamwork, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and flexibility to support after-hours emergency services.
Our most successful Field Service Technicians:
High school education. Mechanical and/or electrical background required
Experience working with residential or municipal customers is a plus
Reasonable experience & proficiency with mobile devices and computers
Effective verbal & written communication skills
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, 100 lbs. assisted
Must be able to pass background and reference checks; as well as a drug test
Must maintain active driver’s license with a clean driving record
Scope of Responsibility:
Maintenance & repair services for sewage grinder pumps and pump stations.
New equipment installation, start-up commissioning, and training.
Prepare proper documentation for assigned work.
Provide and maintain standard tools for assigned work.
Maintain an organized, clean & resourceful work environment, including the shop, assigned work areas, and a service vehicle.
Ability to work outdoors in seasonal conditions and lift to 50 lbs. unassisted, 100 lbs. assisted.
Frequent day travel throughout New England with some overnight travel required.
Hours: 7 am – 4 pm with 1-hour lunch with overtime as required.
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours service with additional compensation.
