Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks and solving a broad range of mechanical and technical problems of varying scope and complexity for all equipment on site. The Maintenance Technician will provide mechanical and technical support for improvement projects and the implementation of new business scope.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Troubleshoots mechanical and technical incidents on production equipment, runs diagnostics to identify the root cause and performs repairs as appropriate.

Performs routine preventative maintenance on all equipment on site in a timely manner and in the required frequency to ensure all equipment is compliant with customer and company specific requirements as well as OSHA standards.

Responds to production incidents as applicable and assists both in the implementation of immediate containment measures as well as the development of corrective actions.

Maintains the inventory of spare parts and ensures that critical parts are available in the right quantity to limit production disruptions in the event of equipment downtime.

Responds to safety alerts as applicable and ensures that all temporarily or permanently defective equipment is properly secured and marked.

Participates in continuous improvement events and proactively suggests tools, processes and methods that will increase safety, quality, and productivity.

Follows all safety policies and procedures strictly, alerts appropriate leadership of potential shortcomings and assists all employees in the proper and safe handling of tooling and equipment.

Participates in 5S activities and workshops and actively contributes to a clean and organized work environment to ensure the safety of operations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proven technical and mechanical ability with an affinity for understanding and operating a variety of controls systems and technical equipment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to work in both mechanical equipment and computer systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that prioritize solutions and the ability to present management with compliant recommended actions.

Solid interpersonal skills such as active listening and collaborating with the ability to relate to individuals from different backgrounds and situations.

Education and Experience:

Certified electrician or mechanic or related degrees and qualifications.

At least 2 years of experience in a mechanical or maintenance role or relatable professional experience.

Substantial computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite in particular.

General knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.

Advanced experience in operating a variety of production equipment and systems.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to spend multiple hours a day standing and walking on the production floor.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
