Job purpose
Responsible for maintaining an overall look of cleanliness of all Guest areas
General Hospitality Job Responsibilities
Maintain hotel’s Quality Customer Service standards and uphold the mission statements through the strict follow up of the Hospitality Rules.
Maintain and abide to time clock rules, report to work area on time.
Keep high grooming standards at all times and keep work area clean and safe.
Wear, maintain and follow uniform standards at all times.
Must become familiar and proficient in all aspects of the property, departments, locations, hours of operations, rooms, activities, etc. respond to guests accurately.
Use guest etiquette at all times.
Follow proper Handling Inquiries/Requests and complaints standards, and maintain the guest satisfaction rule at all times.
Use proper telephone etiquette and answering techniques when answering the telephone.
Anticipate guest’s needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, at all times.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
Follow proper emergency and safety procedures at all times.
Assist all disabled guests, catering to their special needs as much as possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Check and store all equipment as instructed, report damaged or faulty equipment immediately
Pick-up assignment sheet from the Housekeeping Office
Walk though assigned area and do general pick-up of any trash or debris on floors
Special requests from guests should be expedited within 15 minutes
Clean tables and chairs as stated in standards, report any damages
Clean walls and remove cobweb in all assigned areas
Polish woodwork and brass
Clean counters, chairs and tables
Recycle trash as instructed
Empty and clean ash urns and ashtrays
Vacuum all carpets
Sweep and mop floors
Clean and shine lights
Wash down mildew from walls and ceiling when necessary
De-gum floors and carpets
Clean assigned areas (ice machines) and louvre doors
Check assigned linen closet for linen supplies and restock as required
Empty trash from carts and other containers
Remove all dirty linen from assigned room attendants’ carts and linen closet
Clean and maintain all stairwells, walkways, railings and glass
Clean all chairs, mirror and head board
Dust, clean and shine all furniture and fixtures
Clean and wipe all light fixtures according to special instructions
Clean vents, air-conditioning filters and ceiling fans
Wash glass windows, align drapes and clean screen and frame
Hang drapes and sheers
Deliver all rollaway bed, crib and/or fridge requests within 15 minutes
Assist room attendants in moving furniture for thorough cleaning
Clean corridor and pillars balconies and patios, walls and remove cobweb
Wash down bird dropping from walkways
Mop and scrub floors, maintain floors free of dust, dirt, water soluble soil and marks
Shampoo and spot clean carpets
Wash mop, bucket and broom and equipment at end of shift
Clean toilets, tiles, shower curtain, wash basin, urinal bowl, trash cans and A/C grills
Clean ceiling fans
Clean all cup stands
Inspect patio chairs and table, downstairs building, for breakage and replace as necessary
Clean janitor cart
Be familiar with the property’s fire and emergency program
Clean exit signs
Clean doors, light fixtures
Clean on top of closet
Dust down valance rod
Any other reasonable duties as required
Requirements:
Qualifications
Minimum EPB education
18 years and up
Understanding of English
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Good communication skills
Pleasant personality
Customer-oriented
Team player spirit
Working conditions
This position works in the usual Guest room environment with the usual considerations to space, lighting and ventilation. In addition to the Guest room this position may do work in the field.
