Family Care Coordinator - Palliative background

Job Description

The Family Care Coordinator (FCC) is responsible for providing support to families of potential donors in a manner that is sensitive, respectful and informative. The Family Care Coordinator is directly responsible for facilitating a conversation in person with families by providing education regarding brain death and cardiac death, emotional support, obtaining authorization for donation and assisting with projects aimed at enhancing donation. The FCC will assist with Aftercare programs and projects that provide support to donor families.

WORKING HOURS: Provides “24 hour on-call services” 6-9 days per month to include one weekend per month; One additional Sunday as second call (7am – 7pm); One week (Monday – Friday) per month (3pm – 11pm). Service area is a 3 hour radius of Memphis, TN. Salary based on experience: $59k/yr to $73k/yr.

QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with bereavement support, trauma, palliative care and college degree in grief counseling or a minimum of 2 years experience interacting with grieving families. Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience using Electronic Medical records a plus.
