Senior UX Designer 1
The senior graphic designer will be maintaining and enhancing existing Casino UI components and layouts, graphic assets, and/or other artworks, and will be working in a cross-functional Agile squad (hereinafter just Squad) to deliver new business requirements by implementing graphic related tasks.
Key responsibilities
Report to team lead/line manager
Commit to support a safe, mindful, and productive work environment, maintaining open, honest, and respectful communications
Review business requirements with the Squad to ensure clear understanding of the ask before the start of the implementation and set expectations
Work with the Squad to ensure all assigned deliverables are completed within the agreed deadlines and all assigned tickets’ statuses are kept updated
Implement assigned design tasks with the highest quality and provide required UI elements and graphic assets in a timely fashion
Follow and enforce consistency, naming conventions and best practices during the creation of UI elements and graphic assets
Create, maintain and improve UI guidelines and styleguides according to company brand guidelines
Lead in producing POCs and prototypes, in evaluating new UI/UX approaches that improve the user experience of Casino products, and in facilitating the designer/developer workflow
Participate in discussing user flows, low fidelity mock-ups, user experience approaches, challenges, and efforts to implement the solutions with UX designers and POs
Mentor and guide other graphic designers by providing quality coaching and ensuring proper execution of their tasks
Participate in technical interviews and subsequent evaluation of job applicants
Skills and Capabilities
Capable of clear and effective communication, both in written and in verbal form, for providing updates and estimates, collaborating with team members, empowering peers through mentoring, and contributing to the knowledge repository
Quick learner, detail-oriented, able to self-organize and handle multiple competing priorities
B.Sc. or diploma in Graphic Design, Web/Media Design or equivalent experience
Extensive experience in Graphic Design for software development across multiple platforms (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android) and devices (desktops, laptops, smartphones, tablets)
Solid understanding of visual and interactive design and concepts
Ability to create professional quality graphic assets in a variety of visual styles such as 2D, 3D, UI elements, backgrounds
Experience optimizing, exporting, and packing assets and animations
Solid knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects
Solid knowledge of Figma and Sketch and similar graphic software; additional graphics, media or animation software experience is an asset
Solid knowledge of Front-End technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3
Extensive experience with modern development methodologies and source control management
Experience with collaboration and documentation tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft SharePoint, and the Office suite
Knowledge of UX principles and techniques is an asset
Experience with JavaScript and Front-End related frameworks such as React is an asset
Knowledge of different Casino games rules and related domain is an asset
