The Department of Biology and Chemistry at Bethel University (IN) is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track faculty member in Organic Chemistry.

The Department of Biology and Chemistry at Bethel University (IN) is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track faculty member in Chemistry starting August 2024. Bethel is an intentionally Christ-centered institution which hires faculty who demonstrate a strong Christian faith. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in Organic Chemistry and will likely teach a combination of the following: Organic Chemistry I and II, General and Organic Chemistry for Allied Health majors, and a Physical Science general education course, all with labs. Other possible teaching assignments may include Scientific Research Methods, Science and Faith Seminar, Biochemistry, or other related courses. He or she will advise students in any of the majors in the department. Eligible candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry.

Job responsibilities include twelve load hours of teaching undergraduates each semester, as well as advising students, serving on committees and otherwise supporting the mission of Bethel University. An ability to engage students in undergraduate research is an added strength.

Our department offers majors in biology, chemistry, and science education. A high percentage of Bethel graduates secure acceptance into professional and graduate school.

Requirements: Ph.D. in Chemistry.
