JOB TITLE: NGO Media,Marketing & Communications Officer (hybrid)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a talented Communications Specialist to join our client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing effective communication strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This role involves creating compelling content, managing internal and external communications, and maintaining consistent messaging across various platforms. The work is hybrid requiring on and offlinepresence as may be required.He/she may be required to work on weekends or extra hours during busy periods.

JOB PURPOSE

● Prepare and disseminate report regularly as may be agreed

● Coordinate network resources and ensure a symbiotic working relationship always

● Deliver other programme-related tasks as may be assigned

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AREAS

● Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans to support organizational objectives.

● Create engaging content for various communication channels including website, social media, press releases, newsletters, and internal communications.

● Manage and maintain the company's brand voice and messaging consistency across all platforms.

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and create communication materials.

● Build and nurture relationships with media outlets, journalists, and stakeholders.

● Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven improvements.

● Assist in crisis communication management and prepare appropriate responses when necessary.

● Stay updated with industry trends, communication tools, and best practices to enhance strategies.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE

If the officer is the right fit:

● Strong processes and procedures are established

●All the organization's online platforms are well managed and carry up-to-date relevant information

●Alums and Prospective are engaging with the organization's online community including LinkedIn

● The TL team would be coordinated and more seamlessly achieve set goals in record time

● All TL communication tasks will be responded to and resolved within the stipulated time

● All events are delivered to an audience satisfaction rate of 90%

● Partnerships and collaborations with internal stakeholders and departments will be effective and drive the achievement of core objectives

● Reports will be timely and qualitative

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Experience:

● Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field. M.Sc will be an added advantage

● Proven experience 5 years in a communications role, preferably in a corporate environment.

● Minimum of one year of local or international work experience in the social or learning and development sectors.

● Experience in Media Marketing

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling content.

● Proficiency in utilizing various communication platforms and tools.

● Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

● Experience in media relations, crisis communications, social media and event management is a plus.

● Great interpersonal and communication skills

● Proficiency in the use of ICT tools and communication techniques

● Ability to work unsupervised with respect for quality delivery to scale and timeline.

● Local language proficiency
