Established in 1925, Sparrows Point Country Club is a privately owned club that overlooks the waterfront, featuring a yacht basin, an 18-hole championship golf course, and a full-service clubhouse that provides service from casual to formal dining and weddings to special events.

Seeking a self starting, responsible and professional individual to join our culinary team as a Lead Line Cook at Sparrows Point Country Club. Experience in fast paced, a la carte dining is a must.

Compensation: $18.00-$21.00 per hour depending on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Embraces ECHO Teamwork values

Assists chef/executive chef as needed.

Monitors and maintains line plating and quality.

Prepares a variety of cuisine utilizing skill and creativity.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Practices Lean Management principles as an integral part of the operation.

Coordinates with wait staff to ensure guest expectations are met or exceeded.

Ensures that level of quality, portion control, and plate presentation is adhered to consistently.

Skillfully utilizes hand tools or machines required, reads recipes, measures, cuts, and otherwise works on materials with great precision.

Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe sanitary work environment. Responsible for helping achieve ongoing guest satisfaction and team goals.

Maintains a clean, organized, and safe kitchen; ensures all sanitation procedures are being followed; ensures adherence to all health and safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

18+ years old

High School Diploma/GED required.

Minimum of 2 years' restaurant or kitchen experience required.

Acute attention to detail

Comfortable working with a team in a fast paced environment.

Commitment to excellence and high standards

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skill.

Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook.

Thorough knowledge of all food preparation techniques and styles.

Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decision.

Current knowledge of regional and national trends in food and beverage.

Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

Work Environment:

Occasionally loud noise.

Frequent evening and weekend work required.

Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.

Frequent exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather).

Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds.
